Meet the MACCEC Keynote – Dr. Christina Kwauk!
We are excited to announce Dr. Kwauk will open the Mid-Atlantic Climate Change Education Conference on Monday, June 28th. She is a social scientist with a current interdisciplinary focus on education for climate action. She is an expert on girls’ education in developing countries, 21st century skills and youth empowerment, and how they intersect with gender, education, and climate change.
Christina will prepare us to think about how climate change education can prepare our students for the future and incorporate aspects of equity, justice and fairness. Educators and students are of course at the center of advancing climate change education. In an article co-authored by Christina, she talks about how educators and students can tap into their creativity and influence their homes and communities to shift climate education to action.
She inspires us, and we hope she does the same for all attending the conference!
