With passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2022, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has secured inaugural, dedicated funding for the recently authorized Chesapeake Watershed Investments for Landscape Defense (WILD) grants program. The Service is partnering with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to administer those funds through its existing Chesapeake Bay Stewardship Fund grants programs portfolio.
For this initial year, NFWF is soliciting proposals for projects addressing Chesapeake WILD priorities through the open Small Watershed Grants Program solicitation with proposals due April 21. In future years, Chesapeake WILD project will be solicited through appropriately dedicated and specific branding and program parameters via our annual spring solicitation cycle.
NFWF is holding a webinar for prospective Chesapeake WILD projects this Thursday, March 24th at 2:00PM. Those interested can register using this link. The webinar will discuss Chesapeake WILD program priorities, broader NFWF grant application requirements and evaluation criteria, as well as important updates to the current Small Watershed Grants Request for Proposals issued through the revised RFP attached here and posted to NFWF CBSF website.
