River Network will be offering a second cohort-based training series on State Revolving Funds which will begin on March 5. Interested? Apply to join the SRF series today!
Are you looking to understand and influence how and where State Revolving Funds (SRFs) are distributed in your state? This 9-week training series is an opportunity to take a deeper dive into River Network’s SRF Advocacy Toolkit to learn more about how the SRFs can help your community complete needed water infrastructure projects, what you can do to increase equitable distribution of funding in your state, and identify the key stakeholders and avenues for improved access and implementation of the SRFs.
Through a mix of “synchronous” (online sessions with River Network staff, guest speakers, and other cohort members) and “asynchronous” (online sessions that you can complete on your own with engaging reading, videos, and interactive prompts) sessions, we’ll cover the fundamentals of how SRFs work and generate advocacy strategies that focus on you/your organization’s priorities on topics ranging from public participation to lead service line removal to workforce development. The training series will kick off on Tuesday, March 5th. Here’s a quick run-down of each session:
- Week 1: Introduction and Overview. Synchronous, video call 90 min – Tues March 5 from 3-4:30 PM ET
- Week 2: CWSRFs, DWSRFs, and Tribal Set-Aside Programs. Asynchronous – on your own time week of March 11 ***Optional Office Hour this week
- Week 3: Green & Natural Infrastructure, Climate Resiliency Projects. Synchronous – 90 min – Tues March 19 from 3-4:30 PM ET
- Week 4: Deep Dive on Intended Use Plans. Synchronous 90 min – Tues March 26 from 3-4:30.
- Week 5: Lead Service Lines and Emerging Contaminants Funding Asynchronous – on your own time week of April 1 ***Optional Office Hour this week
- Week 6 Water Affordability and Infrastructure Costs. Asynchronous – on your own time week of April 8 ***Optional Office Hour this week
- Week 7: Technical Assistance Synchronous – 90 min Tues April 16 from 3-4:30.
- Week 8: Workforce Development Asynchronous – on your own time week of April 22 ***Optional Office Hour this week
- Week 9: Action Steps/Close out. Synchronous – 90 min – Tues April 30 from 3-4:30
