The Chesapeake Bay Trust has partnered with the City of Rockville to administer their Flood Mitigation Assistance Program.
The goal of this program is to financially reimburse individuals who have made improvements to their residences/and or properties to mitigate future damage from flash flooding events. For the City, this means delivering Assistance funds to residents who took efforts to increase overall community resiliency. For the individual applicant, this means being reimbursed for products and/or services that will provide a return on both the City’s and their own investment.
Eligible Project Types:
- Practices to protect and seal windows;
- Practices to protect and seal doors;
- Practices protect and seal basements;
- Practices to protect and seal utilities;
- Practices to protect the exterior of the home; and
- General protective and flood-stoppage equipment.
Please note, some of these Approved Practices may require review, approvals, and permitting by City Departments as outlined in the Application Process.
The program will provide up to 50% of the total costs for approved measures, up to a maximum amount of $5,000. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. All approved practices must have been installed after July 1, 2019. The Fiscal Year 2025 budget is up to $100,000 for the grant program. Applications for the City of Rockville Flood Mitigation Assistance Program are accepted on an on-going basis (also called a “rolling program”).
