The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is seeking bids from forest planting contractors to establish new forest on 71.25 total acres in Pennsylvania during the fall 2024 planting season. The 15 sites are located in Adams, Clinton, Cumberland, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lycoming, Northumberland, Somerset, and York Counties. Services sought also include site preparation, annual ‘turnkey’ maintenance, and replanting services on portions of those acres. Services sought entail:
● Planting 18,313 bare-root seedlings during fall 2024 planting season (15 Sites, 71.25+ Acres)
– Installation of perforated, vented 5’ deer shelters on 18,313 planted stems at 15 sites
● Post-planting ‘turnkey’ annual maintenance
– Two mows and two sprays on 47.18 acres across 8 sites from 2025-2027
● Shelter/stake maintenance and post-planting replanting of dead trees and shrubs from
2025-2027
– Replanting dead trees marked by Alliance staff on 47.18 acres across 8 sites
