Do you know or work with middle and high school students? Encourage them to enter the 2019 Baltimore Data Jam Competition!
The Baltimore Data Jam Competition emphasizes creativity in presenting data, and builds on the very skills that are emphasized in the Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards and all Maryland school district learning objectives.
What: A competition that challenges teams of students to use creativity and science knowledge to present data from the Baltimore region to a non-scientist audience.
Who: All middle and high school students in the Baltimore region (interpreted broadly).
When: Projects are due May 24, 2019 (submitted electronically).
Projects will be judged on: 1) Completeness of the Data Jam Report, 2) Scientific Merit of the Data Analysis, and 3) Creativity in Communicating Data
Teachers, Parents and other Mentors . . . encourage and help your student/child/mentee to enter the competition!
