The West Virginia University (WVU) Institute of Water Security and Science (IWSS) and the Interdisciplinary Hydrology Laboratory (IHL) is pleased to offer an opening for a PhD graduate research assistant (GRA) to be filled by filled by January 1, 2020. West Virginia University is the state’s flagship research-one institution, and is among the top universities in the nation, with demonstrated excellence in teaching and research. The incumbent will gain experience investigating land use practices, hydro-climatological processes, water quality and/or eco-hydrological / geochemical regimes in a mixed-land-use watershed of the Appalachian region of the United States. Duties will include environmental monitoring, equipment maintenance, laboratory analyses, collection- processing- and analyses of data, and / or modeling and require coursework, dissertation and multiple peer reviewed articles.
Applicants must possess bachelors, and master’s degrees completed in environmental sciences, hydrology, water resources, water chemistry, or a closely related field. Successful applicants will work collaboratively and independently, must have a valid US driver’s license and automobile.
