We’re looking for a new Training Manager who:

The organizations within The Public Interest Network have served as the training ground for countless activists and organizers. Our staff and “alumni” have taken the skills they’ve developed with us and run campaigns to preserve the environment, protect public health and promote civic engagement. They lead the nation’s environmental, consumer, and social change organizations; they hold elected office and serve in government; they work with the media, foundations, universities, the private sector and in countless other professions.

Key Responsibilities

–Provide ongoing professional training on organizing and advocacy for all staff of groups in The Public Interest Network. The Training Manager will manage the annual training calendar and work with leadership staff to run each training.

–Manage and regularly update our training curriculum, which includes 3 weeks of entry-level training content, job-specific training, and dozens of advanced trainings on social change skills, strategy, and theory, as well as primers on the issue areas of focus for groups in The Public Interest Network. Trainings will be configured in one or more of three formats: large events for 250 people, in-office trainings of 10-15 people, and live online trainings.

–Work with The Public Interest Network leadership to plan and run staff events and trainings for our 400+ new and experienced staff, including managing the event budgets and logistics.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the issues that The Public Interest Network works on and is motivated by our mission and strategies for making change. Candidates should be strong trainers, skilled at working with people of varying levels of experience, and looking for a fast-paced work environment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing large projects, such as coordinating multi-day events with 100+ attendees, and some staff or volunteer management experience. Candidates must have at least 1-2 years of relevant experience, which could include work with political campaigns or issue advocacy. Candidates must have excellent judgment and discretion.

Compensation & Benefits

Target annual compensation for this position is commensurate with the relevant professional experience and/or advanced degrees that a candidate has. The Public Interest Network offers a competitive benefits package. A minimum 2-year commitment is required.

Location

Denver, CO with frequent travel.
