Join us January 7th at 7pm for the kickoff of Annapolis Maritime Museum’s Annual Winter Lecture Series!
Dave Gendell, a lifelong Annapolis sailor, will walk through the history of Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse including the rise of the port of Baltimore, the early lighthouses on the peninsula, and the construction of the screwpile on the shoal. The presentation will include a look at noteworthy keepers and an overview of the current state of the lighthouse. Charts, maps, plans, and other illustrations will be used to highlight the unique history of this Bay icon.
Lectures will be held virtually on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. from January 7 to February 25, 2021. The whole 2021 Winter Lecture Series lineup can be found here.. Lectures are $10; FREE for AMM Members First Mate and above ($100).
