Lower Shore Land Trust is seeking volunteers interested in joining their team of volunteer Land Stewards. The annual training will be offered on two dates, Wednesday, February 24th and Saturday, February 27th.
This informative and fun program will introduce prospective volunteers to the mission of the organization and opportunities to become involved in critical field work.
Once a property has been protected with a conservation easement, Lower Shore Land Trust works with private landowners to ensure the conservation values of the easement are upheld. The conservation easements can provide many benefits to the community by protecting wildlife habitat, water quality, agricultural lands, scenic landscapes as well as helping to protect our drinking water supplies.
Land Stewards visit conserved properties and provide annual monitoring for compliance. They get the chance to visit beautiful properties and hear the stories from landowners why they chose to protect their land.
Please join the Lower Shore Land Trusts volunteer Land Steward program for the Virtual Land Steward Training. It will be held on two dates, Wednesday, February 24th from 4 pm – 5:30 pm, and Saturday, February 27th from 10 am – 11:30 am. This training will be a refresher for current Land Stewards and an introduction to the program for new volunteers.
