The meet up location is at the Historic Hanlon Park. We’ll be at the corner of Gwynn’s Falls Parkway and Longwood Street, Baltimore MD 21216. It’s across from Mt. Ararat Baptist Church. There volunteers will get supplies, including pickers, bags, vests, and donuts.
We’ll be cleaning up the historic Gwynn’s Falls Parkway. It connects Druid Hill Park and Gwynn’s Falls/Leaking Park, which are two of the oldest & largest urban parks in the country. Along this stretch are landmarks Mondawmin Mall, one of the 1st urban Malls, Coppin State University (Historically Black College), and Frederick Douglass Highschool solidifying the parkway’s historic significance. Natural features of the parkway include majestic and aged tree canopy, the Gwynn’s Run (local stream), and the historic median, which unfortunately has been littered and trashed.
