The Community Engagement and Restoration Mini Grant Program is designed to engage a diverse array of organizations in activities that both benefit your communities and raise public awareness of and engagement in natural resources issues.
Funding: Requests up to $5,000
Deadline: The program is currently open! Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis until funds for this fiscal year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022) are exhausted.
Project examples (include but are not limited too): Community clean-ups, tree plantings, installation of pollinator habitat/native gardens/community gardens, and educational workshops.
Our goals are:
- To provide funding to groups that have traditionally been under-engaged with environmental issues, but who have a project idea that benefits both their communities and natural resources (such as local parks, trails, rural or urban forests, streams, rivers, and other natural spaces)
- To engage residents in small-scale community-based restoration and protection projects
- To provide applicants who may not be experienced in applying for grants an introduction to the grant life cycle
