The oyster culture program at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory is accepting applications for a 2022 summer internship.
Become part of the hatchery team and learn all aspects of oyster culture. Complete rotations and become competent in all aspects of oyster cultivation. Collect data, operate downwellers, upwellers, and nursery systems as well as perform basic troubleshooting.
Applicants should be 18 years of age or older by the start of employment, able to work weekends, able to lift at least 50 pounds, and be committed to working in a wet, muddy, and humid environment.
Applications are due February 10, 2022.
