The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay (Alliance) is seeking designers for a conservation landscaping project in partnership with Bowie State University (BSU). The project will be installed by volunteers and should be designed in such a way which will allow it to be implemented and maintained by novice gardeners. The goal of this project, which will be installed in Spring 2023, is to enhance Peace Park on BSU’s campus (see map and various images below) with landscaping practices that support native pollinator and bird species, reduce stormwater runoff, and create meditative outdoor spaces for students, faculty, and staff to use. Landscape designers are encouraged to submit a portfolio and budget proposals for the design portion of this project. In alignment with the Alliance’s diversity, equity, and inclusion priorities, BIPOC landscapers are particularly encouraged to apply.
