Inside the Pipe: Management of Constructed Stormwater Assets
With 30 plus years of water quality requirements, municipalities have the daunting endeavor of tracking and managing stormwater assets and ever-growing number of individual BMPs implemented as a result of new development, redevelopment, and restoration projects. Municipalities and their partners have learned a lot about how to best track these assets in order to remain in compliance with permit requirements.
The purpose of this seminar is to share stories of success, challenges, consideration of software and hardware options for tracking, the interface between those systems and inspections and maintenance staff, and any synergies that may exist with other asset management endeavors. The role of asset management systems as MS4 permittees push for owner-based self-inspection programs is also of interest.
The seminar will be held at MITAGS on June 1, 2023 from 8 am – 4 pm. The Committee is soliciting abstracts for presentations. Topics include but are not limited to:
- Projects, methods, tools of stormwater BMP asset management;
- Database tracking, scheduling, and reporting;
- Software and hardware options for asset management;
- Addressing privately-owned BMPs; and
- Challenges and lessons learned.
The CWEA Stormwater Committee encourages the participation of students and young professionals. Abstracts that include a student or young professional co-presenter are strongly encouraged.
