UpLift is a 6-7 month workforce development program that exposes individuals to the opportunities and career trajectories that are available in the green infrastructure (GI) industry. Not limited by age, UpLift educates, trains, and offers participants pathways to employment in permanent positions. Workforce development initiatives include preparing participants to enter the workforce through job readiness initiatives, job site visits with our industry partners, environmental and GI industry literacy, and tool safety training.
Participants will gain in-field, hands-on experience in construction and maintenance of stormwater management practices (conservation landscapes, rain gardens, and more), tree planting and maintenance, invasive species identification and management experience.
UpLift participants are eligible to receive the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional Associate certificate and the Maryland Department of Environment Responsible Person certification. These opportunities are not only facilitating needed careers in the environmental industry, but are creating environmental stewards for life.
