Join Lancaster Conservancy citizen scientists as they survey the meadow at Clark Nature Preserve for spring emergence of plants and animal activity. Learn how the science of phenology helps track important biological responses to increasing temperature and longer daylight hours over time. And learn how you can become part of this national USGS phenology project to collect and analyze data that helps restore and manage critical ecosystems for biodiversity and resilience.
What to Bring: Bring binoculars if you have them and a notebook or your phone for notetaking. Dress for the weather, wear sneakers or trail shoes, and be prepared for exposure to wind and/or cold on the high meadows.
What to Expect: The approximately 1-mile hike will follow an easy, flat path. This event is for ages 12 and up. Participants must be accompanied by an adult if younger than 18.
