New pits shall be cleanly sawcut around the edge of the pit with special attention to the depth of the saw blade to minimize impact on existing roots. Concrete shall be removed and disposed of at a licensed facility. The excavation depth of new pits shall be assumed to be 12”-18”. After excavation, pits should be filled with high-quality topsoil and topped with 2-4” of compost (Renard Lakes in Brandywine Maryland is the preferred vendor).

Concrete shall be cleanly sawcut around the edge of the pit with special attention to the depth of the saw blade to minimize impact on existing roots. Concrete shall be removed and disposed of at a licensed facility. The excavation depth of new pits shall be assumed to be 12”-18”.
