Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to conduct the statistical analysis, reporting, and quality assurance of water quality monitoring data from the Chesapeake Bay and associated waterbodies. The position requires the employee to plan and perform appropriate biostatistical tests on the data, communicate the results of these analyses to various audiences, and oversee the QA/QC activities of field and laboratory calibration data. The person holding this position is considered an analytical manager and technical expert for the Water Quality Informatics group within Tidewater Ecosystem Assessment. This position performs other duties that are assigned to complete all tasks associated with the job’s functions.
POSITION DUTIES
The Department of Natural Resources, Tidewater Ecosystem Assessment (TEA) Division in Annapolis, MD, is currently accepting applications for an Administrator II. The main purpose of this position is to conduct statistical analysis, reporting, and quality assurance of water quality monitoring data from the Chesapeake Bay and associated waterbodies. The position requires the employee to plan and perform appropriate biostatistical tests on the data, communicate the results of these analyses to various audiences, and oversee the data Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) activities of field and laboratory calibration data. In addition, this position produces reports, data and products that appear on TEA’s water quality data portal Eyes on the Bay (https://eyesonthebay.dnr.maryland.gov). This position performs other duties as assigned that further TEA’s mission of assessing and reporting the health of bay habitats for living resources, such as crabs, fish, oysters, and underwater grasses.
