Breakfast on the Bay is a signature live talk Summer series that celebrates the companies, communities, and conservationists who live, work and play in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Since 1978, Shank’s Mare has dedicated their work to emphasize the environment, cultural, and recreational opportunities of the Lower Susquehanna River area. Located in a historic 1880’s general store building on the banks of the Susquehanna River. Shank’s Mare offers paddlesports instruction, guided paddling and hiking tours, school field trips, corporate outings, environmental and cultural programs, and an outdoor adventure camp for kids.

Join us on August 24 (rain date August 26) for a stream study as we tour:

  • The history of the Susquehanna River and its ties to the Chesapeake Bay
  • Exclusive interview with Kate Fritz, CEO of the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and Liz Winand owner of Shank’s Mare.
  • Live kayak trip and field stream study
