Pickering Creek Volunteer Ron Ketter will lead participants in a 1-hour online training focused on recognizing handy field marks that will be sure to serve you during your winter wanderings. Ron Ketter has been an avid birdwatcher and nature photographer for over 20 years. He spends his time volunteering for several organizations, including Pickering Creek where he serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Trustees; Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge where he conducts weekly counts of winter waterfowl, monitors eagle and bluebird nests, and monitors water quality; Talbot County Bird Club where he serves as Treasurer and the County Coordinator for the Breeding Bird Atlas; Maryland Ornithological Society where he serves as Budget Committee Chair; ShoreRivers where he monitors the Tred Avon River; and Talbot Mentors where he enjoys spending time with his mentee. He lives outside of Easton, MD, where he moved with his wife in 2016 after retiring from the U.S. Forest Service.
