Thought about planting trees along your creek or putting in a livestock watering system, but put off by the expense? Come find out how to get state and federal programs to cover most of the cost of improving your land!
*** PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is geared at the agricultural community. Those who are not actively involved in professional agriculture (or landlords of professional producers) will find our May workshop more appropriate; get more info at: https://go.sustainabilitymatters.earth/getpaid2 ***
Join conservation nonprofit Sustainability Matters at Swover Creek Farms, where we’ll get a brief tour from farm owners David and Lynn St. Clair of some of the projects they’re undertaking through cost-share programs. We’ll hear from representatives of the Farm Service Agency (FSA), Lord Fairfax Soil and Water Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Virginia Cooperative Extension, and Virginia Department of Forestry. They’ll explain the funding they offer, what it covers, and who’s eligible.
Funding is available for practices including stream exclusion, livestock waterers, tree planting, wildlife & pollinator habitat, erosion control, and invasives control.
There’ll be plenty of time for Q&A and info exchange. Food and home-brewed beer will be available for purchase at the farm brewery.
The event is free, but registration is required HEREĀ
