Kyle Hayward, a public history major at Harford Community College, will be presenting an informative account of the Susquehannock Indians who lived long ago along the streams and rivers of the lower Susquehanna River.
Both documented history and archeology helped order the past events of the Susquehannock Indians. Understanding the Susquehannock Indians provides knowledge on a people from an era before written accounts and recorded dates were prevalent. The known information comes from European colonists’ accounts, archeological excavation, and public documents.
An explanation of how they lived, what they encountered, and the wars they fought will bring the tribe’s history to life. The known history of the Susquehannocks will be clarified through a detailed recollection of a qualitative analysis of sources to interpret the facts and explain the cause of events.
