Looking for a fun, conservation-based volunteer activity in 2020? Come work with Sustainability Matters! We’re a new, volunteer-driven non-profit, with a focus on conservation education and community building.
Join us for a brief volunteer orientation in Blandy’s library before Not in Our Backyard: How to Fight Spotted Lanternfly. Get an overview of Sustainability Matters and what our volunteers do, and tell us what interests you.
The only pre-requisite is enthusiasm for spreading the word about conservation and working hard while having fun! We’ve found ways to use the skills of volunteers as diverse as musicians, artists, potters, curators, carpenters, farmers and poets. Educators, particularly those experienced in childhood education, are always welcome. If you have specialized skills, that’s great! We’re particularly in need of graphic & web designers, photographers, videographers, and grant writers. Our favorite volunteers are those who help out at big events like plant swaps, Earth Day Shenandoah, or tabling at festivals. We promise you’ll have a blast while helping our cause.
