Novice and more experienced collectors will meet to exchange knowledge and help with fossil identification, discuss fossil locations, as well as other fossil related topics.
This month Fossil Club welcomes Tom Piscitelli as our speaker! Tom is a longtime member of The Natural History Society of Maryland. He is an avid fossil and mineral collector and very knowledgeable about both. Tom will be speaking on Pearls — A Mollusk’s Defense Against Invaders. He will talk and give a hands on display of fossil pearls from Calvert Cliffs Md. Modern natural and cultured pearls will also be displayed.
Tom will also be speaking on Cephalopods — the Most Intelligent Invertabrate and A Magician. He will talk and give a hands on display of fossil cephalopods from 500 million years ago to their mass extinction, 65 million years ago.
