The Lower Shore Land Trust and the town of Snow Hill have joined together to create the Pocomoke River Rally & Heritage Festival on Sunday, August 11, 2019, from 2 – 7 pm! The event offers kayaking and stand-up-paddle boarding, pontoon boat ecotours on the river, heritage exhibits, yoga and meditation by the river, live music, food, beer and wine and more!
This festival builds on the inaugural River Rally that Lower Shore Land Trust held last year to celebrate the Pocomoke River. This time they have joined forces with the town of Snow Hill to broaden the event and bring in the history of the Lower Eastern Shore.
In a statement from Kate Patton, Executive Director of the Lower Shore Land Trust, this is a great time to highlight the treasure that is the Pocomoke River and that Snow Hill has recently adopted a new logo featuring the Pocomoke River. She added that “We’re excited to celebrate the river and its heritage along with the community and promote the activities that make the community so great”.
This event will feature kayaking, live music, a meditation session led by Chrissy Ehrhardt of Zenna Studio in Berlin, heritage displays and more! Sessa’s vendor services will be dishing out some delicious food, the Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary will sell snow cones and beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Last year’s River Rally was well attended and by combining efforts with the town of Snow Hill, the event is expecting a great turnout. You may bring your own kayak, canoe, or paddle board and rentals are available through Pocomoke River Canoe Company. Advanced reservations encouraged!
River Rally & Heritage Festival will take place at Sturgis Park in Snow Hill. This free event is for all ages and all people.
