Enjoy the fall colors while you join us for a walk in Sam Michael’s Park where we’ll showcase recent projects focused on protecting drinking water, improving the ecosystem, and encouraging everyone to be stewards of the environment. From tree plantings and pet waste stations to educational signs and a rain garden, we’ll share the positive changes that have been made. Get firsthand insights into the park’s ongoing efforts to increase and enhance its natural areas while learning about the vision for the future of the park. Learn how the partnerships of park staff, Safe Water Harpers Ferry, and Elks Run watershed grants help make visions a reality.
Expect to walk about 2-3 miles on easy terrain. Please bring your own water bottle, snacks, and bug spray (if needed).
This event is free but please register in case of delays or rescheduling due to bad weather.
This event is produced in partnership with the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin, West Virginia Conservation Agency, Jefferson County Parks and Recreation, West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, and West Virginia Rivers Coalition.
