Join a guided hike along the C&O Canal near Antietam Creek to learn the local flora, fauna and natural and human history of the Potomac River Basin.

Our hike leader, Jim Cummins, retired Aquatic Biologist of Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB) and current President of Potomac Valley Audubon Society (PVAS), will walk us through the fascinating human and biological history of the area.

The group will walk about 3 miles on easy terrain while Jim entertains with interesting history and stories of the area. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along a water bottle, snacks and bug spray if needed.

This event is free; however, we ask that you register on Eventbrite so that we can communicate delays or cancellations.

Each participant will be required to complete a waiver. Copies will be available at the beginning of the hike or you can bring your own printed, signed copy by clicking here.

This hike is part of ICPRB’s Walk in the Woods Series produced by the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin in partnership with the Potomac Valley Audubon Society.
