Jug Bay has an incredible Citizen Science legacy with some programs running continuously for 30 years and counting. Our annual Citizen Science Summit convenes research volunteers by theme to present research findings and thinktank on new questions to pose to the Sanctuary.
Our theme for our upcoming 2024 Summit is “Exploring Current Citizen-Led Herpetological Research at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary“. Featured projects will include our Eastern Box Turtle Habitat & Population Study, Eastern Box Turtle Telemetry, Vernal Pool Monitoring, and Salamander Road Crossing Surveys. All on-site research accomplishments are achieved by our outstanding and dedicated volunteer community at Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary.
We are thrilled to welcome Kerry Wixted as this years’ Keynote Speaker for the Summit. She will deliver an opening address titled, “Shellebrating Herps and the People Who Steward Them“.
As part of the registration fee ($25 per person), attendees will enjoy a thematic keynote address (speaker TBA), detailed presentations on the listed programs, coffee, snacks, and a full lunch. We hope to see you there!
