Have a dataset you have no idea how to handle? Want to improve the design of your study? Simply just want to learn something new? Come to a Citizen Data Science Workshop! This first workshop in the six-part series will serve as a basic introduction to data collection and storage in online systems. We will be working in Google Sheets, although most topics presented are applicable to Excel and other free spreadsheet applications. This will cover information on maintaining good data records, creating metadata files, protecting data, data “cleaning” and keeping good data records. You do not need prior experience with science research to join! Please bring a laptop. The workshop is free with the $6 park entrance fee. Registration required.
