Govans Earth Care Committee will be participating in Faith Climate Action Week, an annual initiative spearheaded by Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake’s One Water Partnership partner, Interfaith Power & Light. It spans ten enlightening days around Earth Day, from April 19 to April 28, 2024.
Govans will be hosting a screening of “Common Ground: Cultivating connections between Faith, Food and Climate”. This film explores how our food systems contribute to injustice and climate change while also delving into practical solutions that align with our faiths. By joining us, you become an integral part of a dynamic community of faith-driven individuals dedicated to preaching, teaching, and actively working towards healing the climate in 2024.
Major Brands like Maker’s Mark and Conservation Resources are Among the Founding Partners that have Pledged to Move their Agricultural Supply Chains to Regenerative Farming and Forestry Practices with Major Voices Such as US Senator Cory Booker and Actor Jason Momoa Supporting the Film
Big Picture Ranch, the film studio behind ‘Common Ground‘, a new documentary demanding change from current American farming practices, announced this past week at the Clinton Global Initiative a new $10 million commitment to move 100 million acres of U.S. farmland to regenerative farming by 2025 (more info at www.100MillionAcres.org). As part of the initial launch, major brands including bourbon distillery Maker’s Mark and leaders like impact investment group Conservation Resources have pledged 100% of their agricultural supply chain to regenerative practices.
