Maryland Commission on Climate Change to Host “Commission Talk: The Climate Solutions Now Act”
BALTIMORE (June 16, 2022) – The Maryland Commission on Climate Change (MCCC) will host a virtual Commission Talk regarding The Climate Solutions Now Act (CSNA). CSNA passed during the 2022 Maryland legislative session by the Maryland General Assembly and became effective on June 1, 2022. CSNA is the most ambitious near-term greenhouse gas target of any U.S. state. The law requires a doubling of Maryland’s historic emission reduction rate (from 2006 level) – 60% by 2031 and net-zero emissions by 2045, which matches the long-term targets set by California and Virginia.
