Join us on October 23 from 6:00 t0 8:00 p.m. at the Chesapeake Culinary Center in Denton, Maryland for our Fall Seed Collection workshop and Welcome Meeting. Learn about the importance of increasing the quantity and quality of native plants in your garden habitat. You will gain the confidence and skills necessary to grow your own native plants in the spring using seeds collected in your garden this fall. Environmental Concern (EC), in partnership with the new Wild Ones Delmarva chapter, invites the public to participate in seed collection and cleaning demonstrations, as well as hands-on activities that will provide tips and tricks for successfully preparing the seeds for spring sowing. Increase natural habitat in your garden, and share seeds with neighbors, friends and family to expand the Seed Steward community. All participants will receive a packet of seeds collected by EC staff this fall.
The Wild Ones Delmarva founders will welcome attendees from 7:00 to 8:00. Wild Ones chapters support each other in learning about landscaping with native plants and share with others in their communities and networks why it’s important to reintroduce native plants into public and private gardens. Celebrate the new chapter with us! Brochures, stickers and fun give-away items will be offered to participants.
Light “seed” themed refreshments will be served.
