STUDENT INTERNSHIP
Spring/Summer 2018
Part-Time (up to 20 hrs/week)
Compensation $10/hr and up (commensurate with experience)
Location: Baltimore, MD
CityScape Engineering, LLC is seeking a part-time intern to support our environmental restoration and green infrastructure projects in neighborhoods throughout Baltimore City, Maryland. The position is part time for 8 weeks (start/end time negotiable), with possible part-time extension through the Fall Semester 2018. Candidates must be willing to commute and work from Baltimore office 2-3 days per week. We are a small, niche consulting firm that focuses on community based stormwater restoration and greening projects in ultra-urban environments. Employees will obtain hands-on project experience and will be expected to work well in a small team environment.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
- Compile restoration project metrics in Excel format and analyze the results
- Create a google map of project locations and site photos
- Assist staff on site visits to assess existing stormwater management facilities and evaluate performance
- Compile site-specific checklists and photo-guides for stormwater maintenance activities
Preferred applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Passion and motivation for working on stormwater and environmental greening efforts in diverse, ultra-urban City neighborhoods
- Familiarity with stormwater best management practices and basic stormwater principals
- Enrolled or completed BS or MS in environmental science, landscape architecture, or agricultural / biological / civil engineering
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Basic CAD or GIS skills (not required, but a plus)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Responsible work ethic
