About us– Delmarva Native Plants was founded based on a desire to create change in the environmental horticulture industry. We believe as horticulturists it is our role to help protect and preserve the native flora of the Mid-Atlantic. Our plants are grown for everything from small-scale home landscapes to large scale habitat restoration projects. We have ambitious plans for expansion to further our mission to restore our regional ecosystem, we are looking for driven, passionate team members who share our goals and want to make a profound difference.

Qualifications– A passion for conservation horticulture and a desire to grow with our business. Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science, Agriculture, Environmental Science or related discipline of the horticulture field. Nursery/Perennial plant care knowledge and previous experience in an outdoor setting growing plant material in a wholesale or retail nursery. Ability to work a flexible schedule depending on the season.

Primary Job Duties– Working directly with the Nursery Manager on various projects that will include: running the nursery production/ potting line, maintenance of containerized perennials and woodies, curating orders, and Integrated pest management. The ideal candidate will be fastidious and detail oriented, helping us produce the highest quality containerized natives. Career trajectory for this position can pivot based on interest as a rapidly growing business we can engage a variety of horticulture interests.

Most activities will be outside. Prepared to be working in all temperatures. This job can involve frequent bending over and possibly heavy lifting for extended periods of time.

Job Type– Hourly, 30-40 hours a week. M-F typical work week or flexible hours depending on season.
