RESOURCE CONSERVATIONIST
The mission of the Lancaster County Conservation District (LCCD) is to promote the stewardship of
natural resources for Lancaster County and beyond.

LCCD has a vacancy for a Resource Conservationist in its Erosion & Sedimentation (E&S) Department. A
team member in this position will have an array of technical duties related to administration of the Chapter
102 program.

Job responsibilities include:
➢ Review Erosion & Sediment Control Plans and Post-Construction Stormwater Management Plans
➢ Process National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits associated with
construction activities
➢ Conduct project site inspections and generate associated reports
➢ Investigate delegated complaints
➢ Effectively communicate with the public, permittees, plan designers, and cooperating agencies

Required Qualifications:
➢ Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, geology, hydrology, earth science, natural resource
management, conservation, engineering, construction management, or a related field
➢ Experience in or ability to learn how to interpret surveys, maps, and plan drawings
➢ Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry to plan and permit reviews
➢ High integrity in professional judgements and determinations
➢ Strong written and verbal communication skills
➢ Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
➢ Ability to traverse rough terrain

Preferred Qualifications
➢ Previous experience in erosion & sediment control and/or stormwater management
➢ Working knowledge of municipal structure and land development processes
➢ Expertise in generating review letters and inspection reports

Salary & Benefits
➢ $44,000 – $46,500 commensurate with experience
➢ $2,400 signing bonus
