The Wetland Restoration Specialist works closely with colleagues and partners to accelerate implementation of wetland and floodplain restoration projects by deploying a full range of restoration and protection tools to engage private landowners in priority locations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Landowner and Community Engagement: Uses communication skills and knowledge of conservation practices and agricultural systems to effectively connect with landowners and farmers and advance projects that meet their goals and achieve conservation outcomes, leverages knowledge of ecology and agricultural systems and conservation practices and programs to develop recommendations for landowners.
- Partnership Support: Is a key member of the Delmarva Wetland Partnership, collaborates to advance the partnership’s strategic plan, leverages expertise on the team to advance projects and report on progress.
- Project Design/Management: Applies on the ground experience with planning and managing conservation projects to develop restoration concepts in collaboration with landowners, performs site visits and assists with design, oversees construction of projects including the contractor bidding process, project oversight during construction, and verifying project completion.
