Our team of over 40 dedicated professionals is passionate about making a positive impact on our community and the world. We are currently seeking an Outreach Coordinator to join us in advancing our mission.
Summary
The Outreach Coordinator will manage marketing efforts, enhance our referral network, and increase awareness of our mission and services. This role involves collaboration with the President, board members, and leadership to coordinate current and upcoming opportunities. The Outreach Coordinator will oversee daily communications, marketing, and outreach activities, while regularly updating LSI management teams on business and marketing strategies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a self-starter, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational, design, public speaking, and writing skills are essential. The typical work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed. Hours may vary.

- Education and/or Experience
- 1-3 years of experience in community outreach, marketing, or communications (environmental science or related background a plus, but not required).
- Skills Required for the Position
- Strong understanding of the company’s mission, vision, and values, with the ability to develop and present solutions that support the achievement of LSI’s goals.
- Leadership qualities with the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and an enthusiasm for building relationships that enhance LSI services.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present effectively and engage in public speaking.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe applications (InDesign, etc.).
- Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with local community leaders, business owners, organizations, and funding agencies.
- Collaborate with management to support environmental activities and company initiatives.
- Marketing
- Support innovative marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and community involvement.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate marketing materials, including newsletters, event communications, and website content.
- Oversee social media accounts, manage content creation, audience engagement, and optimize platforms for better outreach.
- Opportunity Coordination
- Assist leadership staff with identifying and tracking potential opportunities, including grants and collaborations.
- Manage proposal tracking and ensure compliance with submission guidelines and deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation of proposals, gathering key information, and aligning strategies to meet organizational goals.
- Monitor and manage active, past, and upcoming opportunities, ensuring accurate tracking, organization, and prompt follow-up on potential leads.
- Events
- Represent LSI at conference exhibits and industry related meetings (nonprofits, township, and community meetings) that may occur in the evenings or weekends.
- Evaluate event participation opportunities that align with the LSI’s mission and services.
- Develop strategies to expand LSI’s outreach program, meet growth targets, and strengthen community engagement.
- Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing industry events, including communication, documentation, event summaries, and expense reporting.
- Grants
- Research, identify, and manage grant opportunities that align with LSI project types, ensuring they are tracked and monitored.
- Coordinate and facilitate the grant writing process, including compiling documentation, meeting deadlines, establishing and monitoring a grants calendar, and overseeing submissions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Attend grant information meetings to stay informed and update grant criteria with the latest information.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential funders, serving as the LSI’s primary point of contact for grant development efforts.
Compensation:
- Wages (based on experience and training): $23.00 to $27.00/hr.
