A Senior Crew Member will be an essential part of the Howard Ecoworks team in leading the implementation of environmental services including the installation of landscaping projects such as conservation landscapes, tree installations and rain gardens. The Ecoworks Senior Crew is responsible for the delivery of the Rent-an-EcoCrew service which involves client interaction and project management. Additional work will include performing maintenance of stream restoration projects, removing debris from waterways, maintenance of bioretentions, rain gardens, conservation landscapes, and more. The Senior Crew Member is an integral part of the field team by providing experience, knowledge and support to the Program Participants (Uplift and READY crews). The Senior Crew Member will be responsible for the support of general company field operations to include site inspections; vehicle, tool, and farm upkeep; and more operational duties as assigned.
Responsibilities & Duties:

Completing daily tool inventory

Collection of and reporting daily project photos

Support Program participants, as needed, in guiding performance of daily field operations tasks

In-field training support for Program participants including tool usage, site safety, field skills, etc.

Assign work tasks to and direct Crew throughout daily field operations should Senior Crew Lead be unavailable/absent

Read and implement work plans and project designs to ensure proper execution of services

Construction and maintenance of environmental landscaping practices such as; conservation landscapes, rain gardens, native tree plantings, and stream restoration projects

Inspect and attend to local streams after major storm events including removing debris from waterways

Properly use, store and care for all field equipment, tools, materials, etc.

Driving/usage of company vehicles in accordance with company policies
Qualifications & Requirements:
-
Previous experience working in landscaping, stormwater management, or other similar environmental field work
-
Preference given to those who have completed the Uplift/READY Program
-
Must be at least 18 years of age

Ability to work in a variety of outdoor settings including forests and streams

Able to work with a team as well as independently
-
Able to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
-
Must have reliable transportation to initial job site

Must be dependable
Preferred Qualifications:

Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Experience driving a truck and trailer desirable

Passion and/or interest in the outdoors

Flexible with changes in day-to-day tasks
Wages: $16.50/hr

Job Timeline:

This is ideally a full-time position although part-time positions can be negotiated. Standard field crew hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Weekend work opportunities may be available but are not mandatory. Work in the field is weather-dependent. Indoor training and professional development opportunities may be offered on bad-weather days, if possible.
