ShoreRivers seeks a seasonal part-time Educator seasonal, part-time Educator to enthusiastically deliver environmental education field trips and classroom lessons to elementary and high school students, inspiring them to care about their local environment and empowering them to make a positive impact. The ideal applicant is an energetic team player who respects children, adults, and the environment equally. This position offers $18 per hour with a 25-hour work week from September 12, 2022, through June 9, 2023. There will be a 7-week, unpaid winter break in December/January.
The Educator reports to the Director of Education and works within the Education Department to provide programming at schools and locations throughout Dorchester, Talbot, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, and Kent Counties. Field trip locations frequently include University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory in Cambridge and Adkins Arboretum in Ridgley. The employee must be flexible to travel frequently between counties and work within typical school day hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The employee must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and provide a copy of their vaccination card.
