This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about educating youth, possess a love for the outdoors, and are interested in the environmental field. During the summer, AMM runs a popular 10-week summer camp program for over 400 local youth and provides field trip experiences for visiting groups. Our summer programming has students exploring life around the Bay and maritime heritage through the lens of environmental science, social studies, art, and recreation.
Our summer internship program offers great experience for college students interested in any of these fields of study: education, environmental studies, science, & communication, or outdoor recreation. Interns will receive hands-on training and experience with the fundamentals of environmental education best practices, lesson plan creation, and program facilitation. Interns will facilitate programs for summer camp and visiting groups. Interns will participate in professional development experiences to discover other career opportunities and network in the environmental sector.
Interns will earn a stipend of up to $3,000 paid out in biweekly increments over the course of the 10-week internship. AMM summer camp runs from June 27th through September 2nd.
