Tree Tender Online Training will be offered by Penn State Extension on Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm starting January 8 through Feb 19th.

The course is designed for lay people and experts alike. In particular, it may appeal to shade tree commissions, municipal officials and staff, community volunteers, and arborists and landscape architects who work with municipalities. Participants will learn how trees work, the ecosystem benefits of trees, how to properly plant and care for trees, tree identification, tree stressors, and how to organize volunteer tree projects.

Certified arborists who attend the sessions, live or recorded, can earn continuing education units from the International Society of Arboriculture. Certificates of attendance can be provided for landscape architecture continuing education credits or other professional certifications.
